We benefited from support in our student days and we enjoy passing that one forward.
Each year we welcome one or two students to Platform 1 for a week of work experience and we all gain from the shared time.
Two of the pathfinders were Yasmin Ali and Christie Gray, from the Wells Blue School. Them and their great chocolate chip cake too.
Yasmin and Christie contributed to logo designs, and strapline thinking. They also followed a work flow through with every piece of computer software we use, in the production of their own business cards and single web pages for their school project on shops.
We had the pleasure of a repeat visit from Christie for her AS level work placement.
In 2008 we enjoyed having Barney Felstead from the John of Gaunt School, Trowbridge.
Louis Hamber then broke the mould by knocking on the door after completing his college life. Who could turn down his winning smile? A part-time apprenticeship followed and now he is a full-time Platform 1 designer.
In between, we have had Caoimhe Young, Claire Falkus and Freddie Ruxton trying out document styling as a post-GCSE relax... Anything is possible. We look forward to welcoming others in the future.
